The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is partnering with Saris Cycling Group to organize the 5th Annual 5th Grade National Bicycling Poster Contest. The contest is asking 5th grade students to create a poster around #longfortheride. The purpose of the contest is to promote youth riding bicycles as a way to lead a healthy lifestyle. Mississippi has won the National competition the past two years. Let's make it 3!!

Mandy's poster has been submitted to Saris for the national competition which will be November 17 - 19. The national winner will win a trip to the 2016 National Bike Summit in Washington, D.C. Their school will also receive bike parking for 20 bikes and an active transportation tracking system known as The Hub. Let's help Mandy win this awesome trip by voting for her November 17 - 19.

A BIG Congratulations to Lily Adam for winning the 2014 National Poster Contest!!!

By winning the national level contest, Lily and her mom traveled to Washington D.C. for the 2014 National Bike Summit where she and her artwork were honored. Lily was presented with an award certificate and a Schwinn bicycle, helmet and light attachment for winning the state level contest. In addition, Henderson Elementary School will also receive bicycle parking for up to twenty bikes and a bike/walk tracking system called "The Hub."
